I learned to make these things when I was in middle school, and after a few Eeyore rugs I decided to make quilts instead. This past weekend my mom gave me a huge bag full of cross stitch kits and a Tigger latch hook kit. It only took two days to finish and my soon loved it. I put it on his wall, and hopefully it stays up there for a long time.
I’ve been pretty busy lately trying to find a new style for myself. I have been a jeans and big tshirt kind of girl for several years, and honestly I’m tired of it. I don’t think I look very cute and no matter how nice my hair looks, I will still look frumpy in my big tees and jeans.
So last month I decided that I wanted to dress up in skirts and dresses more often. The problem with this plan was that I had absolutely no dresses, skirts, or cute shoes in my closet. I didn’t even know what size I was. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on clothes, especially since I didn’t know if I would even like skirts. I decided to take about twenty dollars and pick up some new shoes and some used skirts and dresses from Goodwill. I also asked my mom if she could stop at the stores in her town to find me some outfits, which she did, of course. I love that lady! She came by to visit this weekend and brought not one, but two bags full of skirts, blouses, and dresses. I have to go through the clothes and figure out how to wash it all, because I don’t want to ruin any good fabrics, and right now it is all wrinkled from being stuffed into the bags. It may sound dumb to be so excited about some skirts and dresses but I am very excited to see how my new wardrobe comes together.
Finally, I have started a scarf to match the hat I made in my last post. It’s a drop such pattern that knits up pretty fast. It measures about three feet right now, which is about half the length I plan to make it. I will take pictures once I’m done. For now here are some pics of some other things I’ve made lately. Enjoy, and thanks for reading. 🙂
Yeah, I bake a lot.
Knit a hat tonight. The pattern is from the Noro Accessories book. I used some Red Heart Super Solid yarn I had, but I will probably make it again in a lighter color and softer yarn.
The pattern was very easy. It only took me two hours to knit. 🙂
