It is a very busy day for me today! I had to stop at Walgreen and the library this afternoon after my son’s doctors appointment, I am now doing the laundry, and it will be followed by homework time, a visit to the playground, dinner, and bath time. Then hopefully my son will fall asleep early and give me some much needed mommy time.
Since I don’t have any finished projects yet, I will share something from a few months ago. I made this cowl in December using some Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in purple. It’s a very basic seed stitch cowl on size US 17 needles worked back and forth. I used a provisional cast on and used the Kitchener stitch to seem the ends together.
I’m still making the Big Snowy Owl for my son, but I’ve been busy these last few days and haven’t had time to knit. I’m hoping that after today’s nine loads of laundry (it’s a lot of clothes), I will be able to work on the owl for an hour or two before I go to bed tonight.
I finally took a picture of my Lina hat, plus I got to wear it this morning on the way to dropping my son off at school.
I was so happy when I realized that the hat matched the entrelac cowl I made last month. By the way, the cowl is made in Red Heart Super Saver Purple Tones, and the pattern was my own.
This will be a quick post today, mostly pictures. Last month I made a custom order for one of the teachers at school. She asked for a warm cowl with fringe in gray and orange, like the Harley Davidson colors. The pattern is my own design. Here are some pictures.
The first two pics were the cowl pre-fringe. The last picture is the final outcome. 🙂
This week began in a great way. We spent President’s Day at the movies watching Alvin & the Chipmunks part 3. The theatre was crowded but we got lucky when it came to our seats. The entire row in front of us was full of very short quiet kids, and with the exception of one crying baby, the kids were all pretty well behaved.
This afternoon was very exciting. It began with a lunch date with the hubby followed by a walk through the mall. The best part of the day was my visit to f.y.e. I was able to find the entire set of The Gilmore Girls at an awesome price, $40 of the listed price on each season! As I write this I am watching the first episode of season 2 since I already watched the entire first season.
Finally, today’s picture is of a long ribbed cowl in a grape color. The fit on me isn’t great, but the woman who has it now is a lot bustier than me, and it looks lovely on her. 🙂
